My Sisters Dress and the the Friends of McHenry County College foundation recently partnered up  to make the high prices of prom more affordable while also raising money for women scholarships at MCC.

More than 1,000 dresses were donated to their organization, each selling at $25 a piece. They hosted a sale at MCC on February 25th, and raised over $10,000 in profit. The earnings were divided between Home of the Sparrow, Education to Empowerment woman’s scholarships, and the mentoring program introduced by Friends of MCC foundation. The Education to Empowerment program, also known as E2E, has awarded over $520,000 in scholarships so far. They are providing mentorship and financial support to women students who are continuing their degree at a university after finishing their last year at MCC.  To learn more about the program go to:
