Fall luncheon for empowerment program

The Education to Empowerment (E2E) women’s scholarship and mentoring program is hosting a fundraising luncheon on Thursday,  Sept. 30, 11 a.m.- 1 p.m.

The luncheon will be held at The Venue at Goebbert’s in Pingree Grove. Tickets are $35 for E2E members and $40 for non-members. All proceeds from the event go toward the scholarships. Besides lunch, the event will also have a silent auction and guest speakers.

College Fair can help students plan for future

Are you looking to continue your educational career but don’t know how to take the next step? Are you having trouble finding the right school and program for your wants and needs?

If you need help making these important life decisions, then you have an opportunity to receive that help on Thursday, Oct. 7, 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the MCC gym.

Representatives from over 120 colleges and universities will be on campus to answer your questions and help you find the right choice. This event is open to the public. Students are encouraged to pre-register for a smoother experience in connecting and sharing information with their schools of interest, but it is not required.

Want free funds? Apply for scholarships

This academic year 304 students have been awarded more than 413 scholarships totaling $368,000. Applying for a scholarship may be easier then you think. Simply sign in at mchenry.academicworks.com  then complete your General Application and you will be automatically considered for the various scholarships that MCC has to offer.

You may also apply for additional recommended opportunities — only students who apply have a chance to receive them. You have until October 6, 2021 to complete your applications so don’t waste any more time.
