Is the Chicago weather starting to get to you? Are you already counting down the days until winter break?

If you answered yes to any one of these questions, then you should definitely consider a trip to St. Pete Beach, FL. St. Pete Beach  is home to warm weather, bars, beautiful beaches, and the Don Cesar Hotel,  a bright pink hotel that has attracted many tourists since 1928. It’s west of St.Petersburg, FL, another city popular for tourists. Another popular area in St. Pete besides the beautiful beaches and amazing nightlife is the Gulf Beaches Historical Museum, a restored church from 1917, which according to the museum website consists of highlights “from life as it was in the early development of the South Pinellas beach communities.” The museum isn’t open throughout the week, but on the weekends from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. visitors can look at artifacts and memorabilia of the city and the surrounding cities.

Nature lovers on vacation can also enjoy spending a day visiting Shell Key, a wildlife preserve and campsite controlled by the Florida government to the nature and beauty of wildlife and plants of the Pass-a-Grille Beach area. Worried about the hot and humid temperature? Don’t worry, because the average temperature during the fall is 81 degrees and the lowest it reaches is up to 55 degrees Fahrenheit. You won’t have to travel far to reach St. Pete Beach  because you are near two airports in Florida, the Tampa International Airport and the St. Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport, so travel will be a breeze.

I remember visiting this area every two years when my family plans a summer reunion. Usually, our family reunion is planned around locations that are accessible for our older relatives who can join the festivities, so usually our reunions are in the south like Georgia or Florida. If the reunions are in Florida, my family usually plans a whole day going to  St. Pete Beach. I already anticipate seeing the beautiful pink hotel in my window and waiting on the sand for the beautiful sunset that happens every day.  I love the atmosphere and the people in that area and I highly recommend everybody to go — at least once to see the beauty for themselves.
