Jonathon Stec is the February Student-Athlete of the Month. Stec, a sophomore and men’s tennis team captain, is a graduate of Huntley High School. He has demonstrated exceptional leadership, working tirelessly with teams during extra drills and practices throughout the fall. As the season continues, Stec will compete in #2 singles and team up with Nathan Neufeld for the #1 doubles.
“He may be the most complete doubles player I have ever coached,” said coach Jim Stockwell. “His lightning speed from side to side and his ability to complement Nate’s play with consistency and power sets him apart. Jon’s mental game is unmatched he quickly forgets bad shots and moves forward without letting them affect his next move. I am incredibly proud to have Jon as part of our program.”
In addition to his athletic prowess, Stec is also an outstanding student. As a freshman, he earned ISCC All-Academic honors and is on track to graduate as an NJCAA Academic All-American.
