“The Mandalorian” season two trailer was released on September 15, 2020 as many fans across the world have been patiently waiting for this teaser. With the success of the first season of “The Mandalorian” bringing much attention, many have high expectations for this season to surpass its predecessor and to further the story of the main character, Din Djarin also known as The Mandalorian and The Child, or by what many call “Baby Yoda.”

For many Star Wars fans that really digs deep into the realm of the timeline and the mythos of the story, the most recent season left off with a cliffhanger. As the recent season came to a close, we now realize the Empire is still surviving after the events of Episode VI “Return Of The Jedi.” Moff Gideon played by Giancarlo Esposito created many  mysteries with the conclusion of season one with the return of an ancient weapon that plays much  significance in the Mandalorian’s history, the Darksaber. Fans hope directors Dave Filoni, Jon Favreau, Rick Famuyiwa and Deborah Chow will tie in the Darksaber fluidly with the story line.

There will be many returning characters to the show, including Temuera Morrison who played Jango Fett in “Attack Of The Clones” (2002) as Boba Fett and Rosario Dawson will make her Star Wars debut as Ahsoka Tano, a returning character from the animated series from 2008-2012 and later on in 2020 for its final season. The characters listed did not make an appearance in the trailer but have been confirmed by Lucasfilm Ltd. that they have been cast into this western TV series. The show has high anticipation and has received well deserved popularity by the show’s characters. “The Mandalorian” has been nominated for an astonishing 15 Emmy Awards for season one and the excitement for the show is only rising until it releases on October 30, 2020 and will be streamed weekly on Disney+.

The story of “The Mandalorian” takes place five years after “Return Of The Jedi” (1983) and shows the protagonist, voice acted by Pedro Pascal,  a member of The Guild who are a clan of bounty hunters,  travels across the galaxy collecting bounties. The bounties  are given by an agent of The Guild named Greef Karga,  played by Carl Weathers who  has acted the roles of Apollo Creed in the “Rocky” series and Chubbs Peterson in “Happy Gilmore.” The Mandalorian’s journey begins when he is asked to find an asset that is very important and unusual to the client he served, who ends up being the child, a being that is the same species as the legendary Yoda in the Star Wars trilogies. The child is also force sensitive, meaning he has the ability to use the force which worries Mando about who this once bounty really is. Moff Gideon, the leader of the remaining stormtroopers listed on the planet of Nevarro created this job for the client to give to the Mandalorian. Mando serves as a caretaker for the child while searching across the galaxy to find a safe haven for the two of them because in order to save the child, he had to betray The Guild and barely escapes with his life.

The season two trailer gives the audience many questions about the direction the show will go, mainly with what the Mandalorian will do with the child. Throughout season one we find out the life and living conditions of the Mandalorians. They are living in the shadows in the catacombs of Nevarro, only allowing one of their people to come out at a time, stating the belief that his kind are on the brink of extinction. The Armorer of the Mandalorian clan, who is not named, is introduced to the child from the Mandalorian by saying:  “The songs from eons past tell of battles between Mandalore The Great, and an order of sorcerers called Jedi that fought with such powers.”

According to Deadline.com, Walt Disney Company CEO Bob Chapek  told  CNBC that they finished production of “The Mandalorian” season two before the COVID outbreak occurred.

“There will be no delays for Mandalorian,” he said. The show will have many fans excited for the upcoming story on Din Djarin and his search to guide the child back to his endangered people, the Jedi, as there are very few that remain in the galaxy. “This Is The Way” the protagonist repeatedly says, as he will guide the child to safety in “The Mandalorian” season two.
